Steps to finding opposing viewpoints database:
a. follow link to BMHS library page
b. click "Catalog (internal Only)
c. click "Brien McMahon High School" on next page
d. click "Opposing Viewpoints" from list of databases on left side of page
3. Take notes/quotes from sources to use during committee/floor debate
(you must have notes from a minimum of 3 of your 5 bill topics)
4. Write 5 bills (plus 1 extra credit bill if you choose) using bill forms. Do not put your name on individual bills.
Due Dates
Bill are due Thursday 4/9
Research notes must be submitted on 4/9
Bills will not be accepted after 4/10
Mock Congress will take place the week after April Break

-go to house.gov
-click on "find your representative"
-enter your zipcode
-look around at your congressman's page, including biography section & issues (only take 5 minutes or so)
-write 2-5 sentences telling what this brief look at his page says about your representative
-go to Senate.gov
-click on "Senators"
-use the pulldown menu to choose your state
-click on the senators name to view their page
-look around at your senators's page, including biography section & issues (only take 5 minutes or so)
